Transforming Dublin Airport

T1X

T1X-Internal

The €54m extension to Terminal One, which opened in April 2009, has radically improved the travel experience for passengers using the 100 and 200 boarding gates in Piers D and A respectively.

This facility, known as T1X, provides more circulation space and additional airside retail and catering options for air travellers. The light, space and comfort provided here also provide passengers with a foretaste of the similar benefits that will be on offer in T2 when it opens in November 2010.

T1X is a triangular shaped structure that sits on stilts above the airfield apron, allowing airside traffic to pass underneath. The specially-designed matrix of dots on its glazed wall gives the impression of clouds when viewed from the airfield.
