T1X Project Helps DAA Man Scoop Industry Award

Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) project manager Iain Heath has won a major UK industry award.

Heath, who works on the Terminal One Extension project at Dublin Airport, was named Young Project Manager of the Year at the APM Project Management Awards 2008 in London earlier this week.

To win the prize, Heath submitted a 10,000 word assignment on the T1X project at Dublin Airport and his role within the job. “I’m really happy to have won, but this was really a win for the T1X project,” Heath said.

“Congratulations to Iain for a thoroughly deserved win in these hugely prestigious awards,” said DAA Infrastructural Development Director Colm Moran. “This award is a huge honour for Iain, the T1X team, and the entire Transforming Dublin Airport programme.”

The APM awards are open to members of the British-based Association for Project Management (APM), irrespective of where the project itself is located. The Young Project Manager of the Year, which was one of 11 awards presented on the night, is open to all project managers under the age of 30.

The DAA is currently investing €55 million in a major extension to the existing terminal at Dublin Airport. The extension, which is due to open next year, will radically improve the passenger journey to the A and D boarding gates.
