Transforming Dublin Airport

Next Phase Of Campus Road Upgrade To Begin

Work is due to start next week on the second phase of upgrading Dublin Airport's internal roads network.

The project is expected to take fourteen months to complete and will involve changes to the exit roads from the airport. The contract for the project has been awarded to John Paul Construction.

The upgrading work will begin close to the bottom of the existing departures ramp. A refurbished roadway will run from there to the location of the existing roundabout before the Esso garage. At the roundabout, it will be joined by the T2 exit road and will widen out into a four-lane roadway to the present airport exit.

The project will also include relocating the coach park to the existing car park at the church. Covered pedestrian walkways will lead from the new coach park to T1 and T2. A new smaller church car park will be built on the south side of the church.

The plan also includes a new slip road to provide access to the Aer Lingus offices, the Clarion Hotel, and the ALSAA swimming pool. A new exit from the Esso garage onto Castlemoate Road is also being built.

While there will be traffic restrictions during the project, the main exit route from the airport at Corballis Road North will always have at least two lanes open.
